The main body of the work is taken up with the Systematic List 2001-02 which covers the 359 species recorded in Hong Kong during the period. The list includes the following new records for Hong Kong; Red-throated Loon, Whooper Swan, Siberian Crane, Amur Falcon, Water Pipit, Blyth's Pipit, Mountain Bulbul, Mountain Tailorbird, Lesser Whitethroat and Brown-breasted Flycatcher.

Additionally there are papers on the identification of Pintail and Swinhoe's Snipes and results of the Nightbird Survey 2000-01.
