About this book

Language: Spanish with English prologue

Longicornios de Cuba, Volume 2 includes photographs of both sexes from nearly all the longicorn beetle species in Cuba, showing them in dorsal, ventral and lateral views, while emphasizing the morphological characteristics of diagnostical value. It also includes determination keys for all taxa to make the verification of identifications easier. Volume 2 includes 97 species of the subfamily Lamiinae in Cuba, 18 of them with systematical and distributional changes, along with five newly described species. For each species the following is included: its taxonomical status as well its types, morphological description, biology, geographical distribution (a map of Cuba with occurrence localities is provided), and all the data of the checked specimens, with a graph showing the monthly collecting data. This is the second of the two volumes as a result of more than 15 years of collecting in the island. It also includes the data of the revision of all the Cuban insect collections since the 20th century. This is set to become the reference work on the Cerambycidae of Cuba.
