From the author:
"These books were written with the desire that the Romanian readership has access to Lepidoptera identification guides, at least for the most important taxonomic groups. Unfortunately, in Romania there are too few active entomologists compared to countries in Central and Western Europe. Because financial difficulties are high, books should be cheap enough to be accessible to potential readers. Therefore, these books are not printed at the very high quality standards that are normal for entomologists in Western Europe. Also, these books are not purely identification guides, they are a mixture between a guide and a distribution atlas. Some may find them too concise and may argue that the information they provide is insufficient. My intention was to write a book that is easy to use and which is able to rapidly provide the reader with essential information regarding the identification and distribution of the species occurring in the Romanian fauna."
