About this book

Native Plants of Hassans Walls Reserve features descriptions and photographs of 390 native plants growing on the Reserve in New South Wales, Australia, and lists a further 97 native plants. In addition, a sample of 40 fungi and lichen are featured. The book lists both the scientific name and common names where known. It is written in plain English to enable as many people as possible to identify the plants. It does not aim to be a scientific or technical book. The book is divided into sections on wildflowers; orchids; grasses, rushes & sedges; eucalypts; ferns; liverworts & mosses; fungi & lichen.

Hassans Walls Reserve is adjacent to the town of Lithgow in New South Wales. It is on the western boundary of the Blue Mountains World Heritage area. The Reserve is some 770 hectares with altitudes ranging from 960 m to 1160 m. With at least four threatened species of native plants and over 70 native orchids growing on the Reserve, it is a special place.
