About this book

When keen photographer Robin Judah began experimenting with very close distance photography, he discovered that he could create remarkable images of plants as they are rarely seen. "Organic Abstractions" is a collection of the best of these photographs: stunning in their use of light, the images show usually unseen details visible from this perspective and dramatic displays of colour that such close range and high magnification produce. More than 100 photographs are beautifully reproduced here, from a photographer with an artistic eye attuned to modern painting. The images are often surreal, showing abstract colours and shapes that are evocative of more than the flower or plant they represent. Displayed in pairs to show the synergy of this project, these are images of familiar fauna as they have never been seen before.
