About this book

Language: English

This book consists of three main parts. Part one, the general introduction, describes the geological background of distribution patterns of petroliferous basins, main features of reservoir beds, and the current progress in oil and gas exploration of Mesozoic and Cenozoic petroliferous basins in China. In this part a brief introduction is also made to the late Palaeozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic palynological sequence for each palyno-geographical region. Part two, descriptions of individual areas, is composed of five chapters based on the petroliferous regions. The third part is a composite section. In this part a stratigraphical correlation is made based on palynological evidence among the petroliferous basins within a palyno-geographic region.
