About this book

Plants of New Guinea and the Solomon Islands has been prepared primarily for professional botanists and for students of biology and forestry in Papua New Guinea. It is based on the "Dictionary of the Generic and Family Names of Flowering Plants and Ferns of the New Guinea and South-West Pacific Region (Botany Bulletin No. 3, March (1973)". It includes the genera found in Papua New Guinea with the islands, in West Papua (Irian Jaya) and in the Solomon Islands. Also included are introduced plant genera and those of economical importance. This book reprints the 1992 publication of the Wau Ecology Institute Handbook Number 13.
