About this book

Language: Portuguese

This is a field guide to Brazilian’s primates – and the only in Portuguese that describes the 116 existing species in Brazil, including the newly described Callicebus miltoni. All of the species are presented with colourful plates, geographic distribution, physical characteristics (such as weight, size), diet, reproduction data, danger of extinction etc. An up-to-date bibliography is also included. The illustrations are of high quality and the book, written in accessible language, is aimed at lay people, students, and professionals interested in wildlife conservation. This is especially applicable to Brazil's primates which are exposed to many threats, amongst others from the destruction of Brazil's rainforests and increased habitat fragmentation.
