CRC is a leading scientific publisher, and since the acquisition of Lewis Publishers became a major publisher in the environmental and natural sciences too.
CRC began life in 1913 with the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, intended to help sell rubber laboratory aprons and designed to fit in the pocket. It was quickly nicknamed the ‘Rubber Book’ and was an instant hit. It has has since outgrown the apron pocket and become a 2,500-page volume.
CRC is now part of the Taylor & Francis group.
