Lynx Edicions

NHBS Publisher of the Month for September 2018.

Lynx Edicions was founded chiefly to produce the mammoth Handbook of the Birds of the World, which describes and illustrates all the world’s bird species.

Running to 17 volumes and written by 277 specialists, with 33 illustrators, and original contributions from more than 850 photographers worldwide, the Handbook of the Birds of the World - or HBW in the shorthand version - was a groundbreaking event in natural history publishing. Lynx Edicions is following HBW with the equally ambitious Handbook of the Mammals of the World, and continues to add to its catalogue, often co-producing titles with organisations such as BirdLife International and the IUCN.

The gardens surrounding Lynx Edicions’ Barcelona headquarters have been landscaped with different Mediterranean plants designed to attract indigenous birds and wildlife.
