Pulsar's Merger LRF XP50 thermal imaging binoculars offer industry defining thermal performance. The 640x480, 17 µm NETD <25 mK thermal sensor and fast aperture (F50/1.0) Germanium lens provide detailed images of exceptional quality, allowing for the identification of animals and landscape features even in conditions such as rain and fog where the thermal contrast is low. The binocular design makes use less fatiguing to the eye than a traditional thermal scope and the 62-74mm adjustable interpupillary distance ensures that the XP50 can be adjusted to suit the needs of any user. Eight colour pallettes - white hot, black hot, and red hot (designed for object detection), rainbow and ultramarine (suitable for identification of animals and features), and sepia, red monochrome, and violet for long periods of use further enable the user to tailor the experience to their needs. Use of both eyes makes it easier to pick out fine details in the view, making these binoculars particularly suitable for purposes such as bat surveys.

The Merger LRF XP50 has a variable magnification of 2.5-20x and a digital zoom of 8x, making it suitable for use over long distances. The 8x digital zoom can either be adjusted gradually in steps of 2x or continually for fine control and further customisation of the field of view. The impressive detection range - a 'standard' 1.8m tall object or animal will be detected up to 1800 metres away in complete darkness. The built-in laser rangefinder offers a measurement range of up to 1000m ± 1m in single measurements or continuous scanning modes for rapid assessments of the landscape, making the XP50 a valuable navigational tool for those travelling at night as well.

The 16gb internal memory enables the XP50 to store hours of video or thousands of photographs. The built-in image and video recording technology makes it easier than ever to record essential moments, whether they be the highlights of a safari trip or rare bat records from an ecological survey. Media can be transferred to other devices via thee USB-C connection or the Stream Vision 2 app's free 16GB of cloud storage. The inbuilt WiFi module supports both 2.4GHz channels for easy connection to smart phones and similar devices as well as a 5G connection to offer a better experience when transferring media to a compatible device.

Stream Vision 2, the companion app, enables quick and convenient connection to both android and iOS devices. It can be used browse and download media, share files with friends, install firmware updates to keep the XP50 up-to-date, and even remotely control the binoculars. Changes made can be viewed in real time on your smartphone screen.

The XP50 features a lightweight but extremely durable magnesium alloy housing, making them resistant to even the harshest conditions. They are resistant to shocks, impacts, and temperature, and is waterproofed up to an IPX7 rating (can be submerged in up to 1m of water for up to 30m). The magnesium alloy also acts as a heat sink, protecting the user's hands by dissipating the heat produced by the internal electronics and increasing the consistency of operation in the long term.
