Series: Southern African Botanical Diversity Network Report Volume: 26
By: OA Leistner(Author)
494 pages, no illustrations
This book documents the flora of Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe comprising 228 families, 2032 genera, and 11,637 species. The book is intended as a companion volume to Seed Plants of Southern Africa: Families and Genera, which covered Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho, and is aimed at the serious student of our botanical diversity. It provides identification keys, descriptions, local and worldwide distribution, and a list of references to all families and genera of seed plants indigenous to and naturalised in the region. Relationships of families are reflected by means of dendrograms, and the classification of genera within the larger families is given. Genera are arranged alphabetically within their family, and families are presented in alphabetical sequence within the three major groups: gymnosperms, dicotyledons and monocotyledons. There is a glossary and an index to family and genus names.
