Water Voles to be released in Yorkshire Dales
The BBC reports on the scheme to release 100 captive-bred water voles into Malham Tarn in the Yorkshire Dales, where water voles are known to have once thrived. Ecologists from the National Trust hope that the release will improve the local ecosystem - and if all goes well they plan another release next year.

New hope for Delacour's langur
Scientists from Flora & Fauna International have confirmed reports of the presence of the Critically Endangered Delacour's langur in a forest location in northern Vietnam. The population of some 40 individuals is the second largest in the country, raising hopes for the survival of the indigenous primate.

BatFest 2016
If you are near London this weekend why not head to Woodberry Wetlands in Hackney, the venue for BatFest 2016. Organised by the Bat Conservation Trust and the London Wildlife Trust, the weekend features an exhibition, illustration workshop, expert talks, a bat walk and a bat-themed family fun day.
