About this book

This book describes the flora of the Eastern part of Guwahati city, Assam, India, presenting information including vernacular names, origin and distribution, locality descriptions, and useful properties of the plants. A total of 137 species of angiosperm plants under 48 families are included. Among these, dicotyledons comprise 104 species belonging to 37 families, monocotyledons comprise about 31 species belonging to 11 families, and gymnosperms comprise two species under two families. All the recorded species are arranged according to the Bentham and Hooker system of classification.
