Biography

Liz Paren began her involvement with African schools by teaching history in secondary schools in West Africa. Her subsequent work in educational publishing took her to East, West and Southern Africa, where she visited schools and talked regularly to teachers. She has written and edited Social Studies textbooks fro pupils and teachers at both primary and secondary level, and has led writing workshops for teachers in Eritrea and Uganda. One of her particular interests is the development of lively and stimulating activity ideas for primary classrooms that have few resources.
