About this product

This box 20 large (A5) postcards contains a selection of the lost words and their illustrations chosen from the book The Lost Words. Jackie Morris’s stunning original artwork is accompanied by extracts from Robert Macfarlane’s lyrical acrostic poems on the reverse, reproduced exclusively as postcards. The text and image pairings seek to reestablish a range of words, such as ‘acorn’ and ‘kingfsher’, into the vocabulary of children, at a time when our understanding and teaching of the natural world can be seen to be diminishing. An enriching and beautifully presented item for both children and adults, supplied in a gift box.
