Errol Flynn was an Australian actor who made his name in Hollywood for his romantic swashbuckler roles and his playboy lifestyle. His father Theodore Thomson Flynn or T.T. Flynn had a rough background but became an eminent professor at the University of Tasmania. He attained honours in science at The University of Sydney and moved to Tasmania to take up the state's first position as a professor of biology. Theodore outlived his wife and his son Errol. He is remembered for his work in embryology and he is still quoted in scientific papers today.
