About this book

Language: German

This is the first volume of the Hautflüglerfauna der Oberlausitz which describes the Hymenoptera of Upper Lusatia, a historical region in Germany and Poland. It deals with the families Dryinidae, Embolemidae, Bethylidae, Chrysididae, Mutilidae, Scoliidae, Sapygidae, Tiphiidae, and Vespidae. A total of 163 species from these families have so far been identified in Upper Lusatia. The book opens with the history of hymenopterological research in the region. This is followed by information about the study area in general, as well as some particularly notable locations where Hymenoptera were recorded. In the special section, the records of the species treated are listed in more or less detail depending on their frequency. In addition, the observation data are represented cartographically with time horizons and phenograms. Regionally collected information on biology and live photos of almost all species complement the species presentations.
