About this book

Language: German

The 26 amphibians and reptiles found in Vienna, Austria, are presented in detail in this book. In addition, there are many stories about the herpetofauna, hiking tips for herpetologists (and those who want to become one) and further literature and also detailed information about our cold-blooded vertebrate cousins. Each species has a multi-page chapter with detailed descriptions of the animals and their habitats, distribution maps and beautiful pictures. QR codes, with which the calls of the amphibians can be called up using smartphones, round off the species portraits. The “special topics” are also very interesting. The spectrum of the 20 articles ranges from historical outlines, information about alien species and herpetophotography, to articles about Sochurek and Kammerer or a giant snake as a witness in a lawsuit about its dangerousness.
