This special issue of ZooKeys marks the fifth volume in a series on the systematics of New World macro-moths. Seventeen authors have contributed eight manuscripts on taxa in the Geometridae, Notodontidae, Erebidae and Noctuidae. Three new genera and 12 new species from the United States and Costa Rica are described and illustrated, in addition to numerous taxonomic changes among both the Nearctic and Neotropical fauna.
