About this book

Language: French

This book presents nearly 900 species of mushrooms. In addition to the inevitable edible, toxic and deadly species that any amateur must know how to recognize, this guide also presents a very rich panorama of the common or rarer species that make fungi a completely fascinating and still very little known realm today.

Each species is placed on the Red List of Franche-Comté mushrooms, and a chapter is entirely devoted to heritage species in the departments of Burgundy and Franche Comté in eastern France – those that have scientific or symbolic interest because of their rarity, protection or threats hanging over them.

The authors, all passionate regional mycologists, offer a unique work enriched with quality iconography. They also reveal a dozen sites that are home to processions of original mushrooms: beech-fir forests, peat bogs, forest plantations, swamp forests, high-altitude stubble fields, etc. Suggested walking itineraries to rediscover some of the most prestigious natural sites in the region are included.

This book is intended to disseminate knowledge that will allow everyone to become familiar with this astonishing fungal diversity, from amateur and specialist mycologists to environmental management professionals and naturalists passionate about harvesting.
