This work represents the first atlas of mammals found in Italy. The volume offers a comprehensive and accurate overview of the distribution, biology, and conservation status of Italian mammals. The treatment of all 140 terrestrial and marine species present in the country is the result of a collaborative effort involving 120 experts from the Italian Mammal Society (ATIt). The distribution maps in the Atlas are based on over one million occurrence records and provide a key tool for wildlife management and conservation.
