About this book

Language: German

This third German edition is based on the previous versions of this classical book, but has been revised to include the up-to date knowledge on spider biology. In contrast to many spider books on the market (mainly field guides and determination tools) which are dealing with natural history of spiders, the focus of Biologie der Spinnen lies on the biology of spiders. These aspects range from anatomy to physiology, from sensory organs to the central nervous system and behaviour, from locomotion to prey capture and ecology. Particular attention is given to spider silk and webs.
