About this book

The aim of The Flight of the Cranes to Extremadura, the Artists for Nature Foundation's third international project, is to draw attention to the unique, beautiful and ecologically important landscape of south-western Spain, now threatened by changes in farming practices. This book presents work from 58 artists, including Lars Jonsson, Bruce Pearson, John Busby and Vadim Gorbatov, who followed the migration of the cranes from their breeding grounds in northern Europe to their wintering grounds in Extremadura. It includes portraits of the landscape, local people and of course the local wildlife, including the cranes. A beautiful work.
