About this book

The objective of the study was to provide base line data on the faunal composition, assemblage and probable impact of mining projects on fauna. An attempt was also made to provide recommendations for reclamation along with better management of the ecological process and wildlife conservation in the study areas. Before the present study was done, no such study to prepare faunal inventories of Chhotonagpur coal field areas was undertaken. The present work is supposed to be the first consolidated faunal inventory of the areas.
