The Ecuadorean members of Alstroemeriaceae are revised. Only one genus, Bomarea, occurs in the country. 39 species, 17 of which are endemic, and two subspecies are recorded from Ecuador. Eight species and one subspecies are described as new: Bomarea nubigena, B. campanularia, B. spissiflora, B. perglabra, B. trimorphophylla, B. oxytepala, B. evecta, B. euryphylla, and B. Patinii ssp. glabrata. One new combination is made: Bomarea goniocaulon ssp. elegans (Sodiro) Harl & Neuend. Keys. descriptions and specimen citations are given for all taxa. Almost all taxa are illustrated.
