The first volume of the series Flora Rioplatense and the first covering the monocotyledons of the Río de la Plata region on the border of Argentina and Uruguay. It constitutes the first regional flora update in more than 30 years and includes 15 families, 39 genera and 67 species of the orders Alismatales, Arecales, Commelinales and Zingiberales. Many well-known plants of the region are treated in this volume.
