This volume includes 60 native and exotic tree species that are most frequently grown in the streets, squares and parks in the Paraná delta region, Martín García Island and the banks of La Plata, both in Argentina and Uruguay. The tree species (including palm trees) are described, including their distribution, ecology, phenology, scientific and common names (in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Guaraní), uses, wood characteristics, and modes of growth and multiplication. The texts and photographs were produced by an interdisciplinary group of specialists, in order to offer a dynamic vision of this urban tree flora.

Este volumen incluye 60 especies arbóreas nativas y exóticas, las más frecuentemente cultivadas en calles, plazas y parques del área de influencia del Plata, esto es, la región del Delta del Paraná, la isla Martín García y la ribera platense. Se describen las especies arbóreas (incluidas las palmeras), su distribución, ecología, fenología, nombres científicos y vulgares (en castellano, inglés, portugués y guaraní), utilidades, características de la madera, modos de crecimiento y multiplicación. Los textos y fotografías fueron producidos por un grupo interdisciplinario de especialistas, con el fin de ofrecer una visión dinámica de nuestra flora arbórea urbana.
