Pulsar's Merger LRF XL50 Thermal Imaging Binoculars offer industry leading thermal performance. The HD 1024x768, 12 µm NETD <40 mK thermal sensor and fast aperture (F50/1.0) germanium lens provide high-quality, detailed images, allowing for the identification of animals and landscape features even in conditions such as rain and fog where the thermal contrast is low. The binocular design is less fatiguing to the eye than a traditional thermal scope and the 62-74mm adjustable interpupillary distance ensures that the XL50 can be adjusted to suit the needs of any user.
The Merger XL50 has a variable magnification of 2.5-20x which can either be adjusted gradually or in steps of 2x. Combined with the impressive detection range of 2300m, this allows the binoculars to be used at long range. The built-in laser rangefinder offers a measurement range of up to 1000m ± 1m in single measurements or continuous scanning modes for rapid assessments of the landscape.
Eight colour palettes; white hot, black hot, and red hot (optimal for object detection), rainbow and ultramarine (suitable for identification of animals and features), and sepia, red monochrome, and violet (for long periods of use), further enable the user to tailor their experience to their needs. Use of both eyes makes it easier to pick out fine details in the view, making these binoculars particularly suitable for purposes such as bat surveys.
The 16GB internal memory enables the XL50 to store hours of video or thousands of photographs. Media can be transferred to other devices via the USB-C connection or the Stream Vision 2 app's free 16GB of cloud storage. The in-built Wi-Fi module supports both 2.4GHz channels for easy connection to smart phones and similar devices as well as a 5G connection to offer a better experience when transferring media to a compatible device.
The XL50 features a lightweight but extremely durable magnesium alloy housing, providing resistance to even the harshest conditions. The binoculars are resistant to shocks, impacts, and temperature, and is waterproofed up to an IPX7 rating (can be submerged in up to 1m of water for up to 30m).
