Dr Chia is also the creator of the world's first bioluminescent orchid a Dendrobium genetically engineered with the firefly gene to glow in the dark.
David Astley is a journalist, broadcaster and photographer with a long career covering tropical horticulture. In the 1970s he produced television programmes on gardening in northern Australia, before becoming editor and co-photographer of the "Australian Tropical Gardening Guide" in the 1980s. Today he is managing editor and principal photographer of the online magazine, "Tropical Gardening".
