About this book

Superb photographic guide, covering the 51 species recorded, including all varieties and sub-species, plus 9 species of doubtful provenance. The stunning colour plates show the whole plant and close-up views of flower spikes and florets. The species accounts include notes on identification, habitat, pollination and conservation. Additional sections cover biology and ecology.

  • Superb field guide
By Mike 19 Dec 2018 Written for Hardback
Succinctly written with all species and sub-species, variants, etc., covered. A very good field guide. I have two copies; one is kept permanently in my lens bag, the other permanently at home with my other orchid books.
There is a one-page summary of their flowering seasons which tells immediately which are in flower at any time of year.
    Well recommended!
