About this book

Language: German

With his work Die Wildbienen Baden-Württembergs, Paul Westrich made wild bees known to the professional world and the public. This is now followed by this big book on the wild bees of Germany. Westrich gives detailed descriptions of the habitats of these animals, their care and nests, their commensals and enemies, as well as the dependencies between bees and flowers. He outlines the endangerment of wild bees, as well as their protection. A total of 565 profiles contain everything worth knowing about the distribution, biology, and flight time of all native species. Over 420 of them are presented in photos of living specimens, indicating features for identification in the field. Many species and behaviours can be seen pictured here for the first time.
