Keith Brockie, the celebrated wildlife artist, spent 1994 travelling around Spain. He sketched brown bears, wolves, Spanish ibexes, chamois, imperial eagles, black storks, lammergeiers, black and griffon vultures, great bustards, chameleons, terrapins, tortoises, etc - a total of nearly 100 species. They all appear in Cuaderno de Campo de la Naturaleza Española. With 150 pages of beautiful watercolours, this book represents the most complete collection yet of wildlife art executed in Spain. In the course of this project, the artist visited all the major Spanish nature reserves: Doñana, Monfragüe, the plains of Cáceres, the Sierra of Gredos, Cabañeros, the Picos de Europa, the Huescan Pyrenees. The accompanying text, which superbly complements the paintings, is by Miguel Delibes de Castro, Director of the Estación Biológica de Doñana.
