Moths in Beijing describes more than 600 species moths from Beijing, China. They belong to 40 families. Their Chinese name, Latin name, morphological characteristics, living environment, distribution are introduced with one or more ecological photos for each species. It briefly introduces the basic knowledge of moths first, including comparisons of butterflies and moths, life history, variations, gender differentiation, defense, food and economic importance. The species accounts contain 689 species of Beijing, belonging to 49 families, with up to six images per species including an image of the adult (with a few exceptions). Images are taken in the field with a few indoor ones. Each species includes a succinct text with information on scientific name, recognition, food plants (if available), adult occurrence time in Beijing, and distribution. 210 species are recorded as new to Beijing, and 14 of them are records for China.
