This volumes covers 32 families, 98 genera and 1019 species, each having a small distribution map (twelve maps are featured per A4 page), and a short description of its morphology and ecology. This set of monocotyledons contains a very diverse group of plants ranging from underwater Hydrocharitaceae growing up to 85 m depth (Halophila decipiens) to Triuridaceae, mycoheterotrophic plants growing on iin dense forest, sometimes hidden under the leaves and rarely collected.
