This volume covers the moth family Limacodidae, commonly known as slug moths or cup moths with the caterpillars sporting thorns and poisonous hairs on their bodies. A total of 264 species under 72 genera are recorded. The general part summarizes and introduces a brief history, taxonomic status, morphological characteristics, economic significance, biological characteristics, and geographical distribution. Each entry has complete citations, morphological descriptions and distributions, and tries to include its aliases, biological characteristics and host plants, as well as the larval morphology of some species.
