In this study, we revised members of this family found in Taiwan by carefully examining specimens deposited in Taiwan and major herbaria worldwide, and checked as many types and protologues of name as possible. In addition to nomenclature and detailed descriptions, the phytogeographical distribution, habitat information, illustrations, and color photographs are also provided to facilitate identification. A supplemental note is included as a final paragraph for each species. New treatment and taxonomic issues are discussed here. Specimens examined are cited, as completely as possible in the appendix, as vouchers and as an aid to future studies.
