Birds have always been the animals that man perceives in the most direct way: they are well visible in flight, display many colours, and their song is easily observed. Among them, many are observable by hikers and mountaineers who can use this text as a complete and detailed guide to understanding what surrounds them. This book was born from a deep passion that has led a group of ornithologists to embark on a high-altitude naturalist adventure and put together a rare collection of spectacular images of the highest quality. Each species is represented by at least four images that show it in different situations, with a graph indicating its presence on the alpine arc. Also included are the scientific name and vernacular names in three languages, with a short entry giving basic biological information.
