The TrackIR are a series of intermediary scopes from Guide's thermal range designed to provide an excellent and economic alternative to advanced Pro models. These handheld thermal imagers have an impressive 400x300 17µm thermal sensor which provides fantastic resolution and enables the detection of a man-sized object at a distance of up to 1400m. These sensors have a thermal sensitivity of <50mK, which is especially helpful in environments where there are low temperature differentials (e.g. rainy or foggy conditions). It comes with a smooth digital zoom function, which allows you to gradually increase the zoom between 1x and 4x. Combined with its native 2.3x magnification, this scope can achieve a maximum magnification of x9.2. It features a LCOS 1280x960 LCOS (liquid crystal on silicon) screen, which offers excellent contrast and response time. It also has a frame rate of 50Hz, meaning it can be used for observing fast moving animals and is ideal for watching bat roosts.

The TrackIR series feature a picture in picture mode which adds a small second screen on the image when zooming in on a subject, allowing you to observe the wider field of view at the same time. They also come equipped with a stadiametric rangefinder to determine the distance to focal subjects. It can take images and record videos, which are stored on an internal 16GB memory.

There are five operating modes available: Black hot, White hot, Red hot 1, Red hot 2 and Red hot 3. The monocular has only four buttons which makes it very simple to use. Each button controls only one function: power, brightness, mode or zoom. A built-in rechargeable battery provides a run time of up to five hours. The base of the unit has a ¼” tripod mount and a micro-USB port which is used for charging the battery. It also has a HDMI video out port and comes supplied with a Micro HDMI cable, allowing you to view footage on an external screen.

The WiFi model is able to connect to a dedicated app on your smartphone or tablet. This app allows you to change the monoculars settings, view a live video feed and take image and videos remotely. This is especially helpful during group viewing or when the decive is mounted on a tripod. Please note that the WiFi streaming for Android devices only functions on true Android operating systems 10 and above.

The device is very rugged and has been drop tested to one metre. It has an IP66 rating making it resistant to water spray.
