About this book

This series provides descriptions of some 900 species of mosses that have hitherto been recorded from Japan. This book covers the whole of Japan, from the Yaeyama Islands, the southernmost islands of the Ryukyu Archipelago, through Kyushu, Shikoku, and Honshu, to Hokkaido, the northernmost main island of Japan, and also Bonin Islands located far south of Tokyo. The geographical distributions are based on herbarium specimens and reliable published data.

Volume 5 covers the families Entodontaceae, Plagiotheciaceae, Myuriaceae, Sematophyllaceae, Hypnaceae, Hylocomiaceae, Climaciaceae, and Fontinalaceae. It includes a table of contents to all 5 volumes on a separate leaflet.
