About this book

This paper offers an explanation of the 44 scientific names given to dragonfly taxa by Leopold Krüger (1861-1942), along with the names of the genera to which they belong. Before doing so, however, the life and work of this scientist are presented. Finally, Krüger's preferences in choosing names for dragonfly species are compared with those of F.M. Brauer and F. Ris, impressions of his neuropterological studies are shared, and reflections on what was important to him in his work are discussed.
