About this book

Language: French

This monograph offers a descriptive and comparative study of the osteology of fishes of the family Malapteruridae, or electric catfishes. Nowadays, 19 species are recognized in this family, but when this monograph was written, far fewer species were known., and this work describes the skeletons of the then only known species Malapterurus electricus, confirming some suggested synonymizations of earlier described species with this species, and a newly described species, M. microstoma.
