About this book

Language: Spanish

With fifty species, the fish fauna of the Argentine province of Córdoba brings together representatives of nine of the fourteen large groups or orders of fish that inhabit the fresh waters of the Argentine Republic. These species are presented in this work, which attempts to facilitate their recognition through colour photos of each of them and a description of them based on easily observable morphological characters. It also provides details of the colouration and maximum size reached by the fish considered, as well as known data on their life history, diet, habits, reproduction, etc. Finally, through maps where the finding of each species is recorded, an overview of their distribution is provided, which, although inevitably incomplete, allows a fairly accurate general idea of the presence of the different fish in the Córdoba geography.

This work is aimed at students in the natural sciences and naturalists more generally. Without being a fishing book, the authors consider that it can provide information of interest to those who practice this activity. Finally, it is hoped that this book will not only allow us to know Argentine's fish wealth, but also help readers to understand the importance of protecting and conserving this faunal heritage for future generations.

The book covers the following orders:
- Order Cypriniformes
- Order Characiformes
- Order Siluriformes
- Order Gymnotiformes
- Order Salmoniformes
- Order Atheriniformes
- Order Cyprinodontiformes
- Order Synbranchiformes
- Order Perciformes

- Orden Cypriniformes
- Orden Characiformes
- Orden Siluriformes
- Orden Gymnotiformes
- Orden Salmoniformes
- Orden Atheriniformes
- Orden Cyprinodontiformes
- Orden Synbranchiformes
- Orden Perciformes
