About this book

London’s book gives us an excellent and thorough review of the current state of the art in pegmatite studies. In Part I, Geology, London provides a primer on the mineralogy, geology, and classification of pegmatites. But the center of gravity of this treatise is in Part II, Origins, which consolidates London’s petrological model of internal pegmatite evolution, and compares it with other concepts. The included CD-ROM contains all illustrations in this book, and the PDF files of the chapters of Granitic Pegmatites, Short course Handbook 7, published in 1982, edited by Petr Černý.
