About this book

Language: German

The volume on vertebrates is the first volume in the current series of German Red Lists. Since the publication of the last Red List in 1998, the methodological foundations have been further developed together with the authors. The classification is now comprehensible for all recorded species groups on the basis of agreed uniform criteria with underlying criteria classes.

The Red Lists of the mammals, breeding birds, reptiles, amphibians and freshwater fish of Germany provide a wealth of additional information for nature conservation practice beyond the documentation of the current threat situation, such as the responsibility of Germany in contributing to the global status of species.

In addition, all Red Lists now contain checklists listing all 478 species established in Germany.
