From the foreword:
"British Chromadorids is the second of three Synopses devoted to free-living marine nematodes. The first, Synopsis No. 28, described the order Enoplida and appeared in 1983. As in the past when an animal group is covered by more than one Synopsis, the general introduction, biology and pictorial keys have been repeated in this Synopsis with modifications, so that each of the three Synopses is complete in itself.
The chromadorids are small nematode worms mostly less than 2 mm long and so form part of the meiofauna in marine habitats. Today the important role of this fauna of minute organisms in food chains is happily appreciated; now the freeliving marine nematodes need no longer be ignored in ecological and other surveys. More titles devoted to members of the meiofauna are scheduled to appear in the future.[...]"
