This boxed set of two audio CDs and two colour booklets is an invitation to experience the rich world of the sounds of Seychelles. The first disk presents a selection of 14 beautiful soundscapes of the granitic islands: concerts of wild animals, natural elements like the waves of the ocean that break on the sandy beaches, the drizzle in the giant leaves of the Coco-de-mer; waterfalls and mountain streams, and some human traditional activities like the production of coconut oil or the Moutia dance. Numerous colour photographs and explanations are provided in the booklet. The second disk is a sound guide with the songs, calls and other sounds produced by 51 wild animal species of Seychelles (33 birds. 5 mammals, 2 reptiles, 3 frogs and 8 insects). Each species is illustrated by a colour painting in the booklet, and a text provides information on the characteristics of its vocalisations, its biology or its status.
