Many Dutch bird species are under threat. This book is dedicated to all species that not doing well. It is not a sombre book, however: it shows what is amiss, but also what we can do to protect birds. Bedreigde vogels van Nederland treats threatened species per habitat type: urban environments, forests, dunes and coasts, heathers and high moors, swamps, and agricultural land.

For each habitat type the authors indicate the Red and Orange list species living here, their population trends, possible protective measures, and where the population hotspots are in the Netherlands.
