About this book

Language: Dutch

The Dutch coastal waters and estuaries are home to more than 150 common fish species. Though most people can recognize a seabass, telling apart sleepers, sand eels, or young plaice is harder. The existing literature is outdated, incomplete, and lacks practical guidance to recognizing fish in the field. There is a clear need for an accessible field guide to identify coastal fishes. Technological and scientific developments in recent decades have generated a wealth of new information that has been bundled into this field guide.
- 150 fish species in 26 families
- The most important identifying characters for each species
