The second of two volumes, this is the first Brazilian book that addresses, in detail, several Brazilian and foreign orchid species of the unifoliate genus Cattleya. It presents a rich content of precise information about each species addressed. Richly illustrated by photographs of the flowers, including the various chromatic variations and details of the lip, the second volume covers the species Cattleya gaskelliana, C. lueddemanniana, C. maxima. C. mossiae, C percivaliana, C. quadricolor, C. schroederae, C. trianae, and C. warscewiczii, and is richly illustrated with colour photos and historical plates. Priscila owns the most prestigious collection of Brazilian and foreign species of Cattleya. In the two volumes of this work, she explores synonyms, name, etymology and description, habitat and habit, main phenotypic aspects, colouring, and chromatic variations. The author also presents a comparative picture of Brazilian unifoliate species (occurrence, habit, temperature range, altitude, rooting, budding, flowering, flowering durability, spathe, inflorescence, perfume, colour, and maturation of seed capsules.
